Grand Place and historic center

Welcome to the heart of the city of Mons!

Come and walk on the cobbled floor of the Grand-Place, while contemplating a breathtaking architecture…

The Grand-Place of Mons is one of the most beautiful squares in Belgium.

Renowned for its dynamism, it is the place to be for visitors and locals alike!

Whether you want to admire the gothic façade of the Town Hall dating from the 15th century, or to have a drink on one of the many terraces, you can’t miss this stage in your discovery of Mons!

As you walk through the narrow streets around the square, you will take a real leap back in time and discover, step by step, the historical heritage of the city.

Behind the Town Hall, take a stroll in the Jardin du Mayeur, laid out in 1930, far from the bustle of the city centre.

Crossing the Victor Hugo passage, you reach the Parc du Château where the Saint Calixte chapel is  located, as well as the Mons belfry, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Don’t miss the Collégiale Church of Sainte-Waudru, listed as an exceptional heritage site in Wallonia. Its stained glass windows from the 16th century, its sculptures, and its “Treasure” (a collection of relics from the period), will amaze art lovers and history enthusiasts.

By staying at the Hotel Lido Mons Centre, you are staying at the gateway to the heritage of  Mons. The proximity of the hotel allows you to reach the most popular tourist sites on foot!

Enjoy your visit…
