LA MAISON DU PAYS DE VOLTAIRE
Located 16 km from the residence La Réserve ★★★★, the Maison Fusier, inaugurated in 1776, is renowned for its rich artistic history. Indeed, the Maison Fusier, now called “La Maison du Pays de Voltaire”, was a former theatre that hosted Voltaire’s first play, Oedipus, and many others.
Today, it belongs to the municipality and houses the town’s cultural and event centre.
Its exhibition room contains various works such as sculptures relating to Voltaire, portraits and other paintings in honour of the famous artist. The Maison du Pays de Voltaire also includes the Atelier du livre. A museum dedicated to printing that takes us on a journey through the history of this reproduction technique, with exhibitions of different machines of the time, shelves filled with printing type and a series of period photos and engravings. Several of the writer’s texts are also on display in the museum.

Exhibition room: Monday to Friday from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm and from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm / Saturday from 10.00 am to 12:30pm.
Atelier du livre: from January 2 to December 31 / Closed on Sundays.
Exceptional closures on public holidays.
